About Moville Blog
Welcome! This is, with your help, a place to write about Moville. I hope we can share ideas about the past, present and future of Moville, its people, churches, schools, businesses, and government. The key will be participation by everyone interested in our town.
This page gets a fair amount of traffic but many viewers go no further. Quickly bored by what they found is, of course, one possibility, another is they ‘really’ didn’t want this website in the first place. One final possibility is they don’t know what to do next and leave in frustration. So a bit of ‘next’ direction. When you finish reading this page (if you do) or right now if you are in hurry, scroll down the page by moving the slide-bar on the right to “Archives”. Here you can look at what was added in Chronological order by clicking on a given month. Another reason to “read on” is if you ‘came here’ on a Google search what you are looking for is probably posted somewhere, just not on this first page, you may need to ‘dig’ a little.
A ‘blog’ is different from other forms of website because the content is dynamic. Anyone can add a comment to an existing post. When someone reads the post the comments are presented chronologically after the post. This essentially creates an ongoing discussion of the topic. This blog is like most other websites because it permits search engines to catalog the content. If you do a Google or Yahoo search on words in the content areas links to the blog posting will appear as part of the search results.
Look to the right part of the screen, under “Start Here” you can register and after that log-in and contribute. You do not need to register in order to browse or post comments. Click on a topic under “Recent Posts” for dynamic content, or under “Pages” for static information.
This site is powered by a program called Wordpress. References on the “Blogroll” will let you know more about what Wordpress can do, and how you can use it.
Please read the “Rules” discussion for more information on the mechanics of this site, and the “Bio” for more about me and any other contributor desiring to be included.
Also I’d like to start a FAQ page but so far I’m getting very few Questions and almost none twice. If you have a question send an email to me.. I will be happy to answer and even happier to save the answer for my FAQ page.
